Fans, Artists and Producers will wait with anticipation and excitement to see who will walk home with a golden GRAMMY trophy.
The GRAMMY’s have been an award show event since 1959, first awarding 28 prizes. Now the award show has grown, allowing many different artists to be nominated in 94 different categories in the general field, not including the special awards. This year, three new categories will debut which are Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording. The CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr. shares that by adding these three new categories were created to make the GRAMMY Award ordeal “more fair, transparent and accurate.”
This year the GRAMMY’s will be hosted by Trevor Noah. This isn’t his first rodeo, Noah has hosted for the past four years. With all of these awards, there will be special performances by Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Burna Boy, Dua Lipa, Joni Mitchell, Luke Combs, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Travis Scott and U2.
There is high anticipation from many fans on which celebrities will show up. Many fans are looking forward to seeing artists like Miley Cyrus, Noah Kahan, SZA, Taylor Swift and so many more talented artists. Joni Mitchell has won nine GRAMMYs in the past and won a lifetime achievement award in 2002. However, this will be Mitchell’s first time performing at the Grammys.
While there is anticipation for who will make an appearance, the red carpet looks also have people excited to see who and what these musicians are wearing. The red carpet looks always have and always will be highly anticipated. Many Swifties are highly anticipating her outfit, hoping it will be an easter egg for a new re-recorded (Taylor’s Version) album.
