Addison Wells

Addison Wells has been playing softball for 10 years, since she was in third grade. Wells has played for the West High softball team for five seasons now, playing varsity for four of those years.

After receiving an offer from Southeastern Community College, Wells verbally committed to Wartburg college for the 2023-24 softball season. “I love how committed the coaching staff is to making me feel welcomed and seen, I feel like I can fit in with the team but also challenge myself in the program,” she said

As she moves past the Wahawk softball team, Wells is most looking forward to playing on a team that is 100% committed to the sport and playing alongside athletes who push their teammates to be the best players they can be.

“My playing time at West High has taught me to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. There are going to be moments when the training gets hard or a change needs to be made in the middle of a game, but how you choose to respond in those moments is what determines your success.” Wells says. As she moves on with her softball career, Wells is aware of the step up into collegiate softball, she says she will carry the mindset she has adapted throughout her struggles.

Like many other athletes, Wells will miss her team the most. “These girls have become my family and shown me unconditional love and support. I could not ask for a better group to share so many memories with and to end my high school career with,” she says.
