Dalanie Kresser

Dalanie Kresser has been cheering for ten years, four of them dedicated to the Wahawk cheer program. Recently, Kresser made the Iowa State cheer team, committing herself as a Cyclone cheerleader. 

Kresser says that she loved the program and the people at Iowa State, pushing her to continue her athletic and academic career with the Cyclones. 

During the basketball cheer season for the 2022-23 school year, Kresser was offered a position on the Wartburg cheer team; she was also looking into cheering at Iowa Central before deciding on attending Iowa State. 

Moving forward into her athletic career, Kresser plans to “continue to grow as an athlete and continue my passion with cheer.”

Though she is ready to move forward, Kresser reflects on her time as a Wahawk cheerleader, “Without West High Cheer I wouldn’t have learned the basic things that come along with being a sideline cheerleader,” she said.
