West High’s 2023 Homecoming is right around the corner. Here is all the information you need to have a successful week.
Events:
September 10: Powerpuff football at Memorial Stadium (5-8 pm)
September 15: West Homecoming Parade (During 8th hour)
September 15: Wahawks Homecoming game/ Coronation vs Davenport at Memorial Stadium (6:30pm)
September 16: Homecoming Dance at West High (7 pm)
Assemblies:
On Monday morning at 7:45 AM a pep rally will be taking place in the Main Gym to kick off homecoming week. There will be a condensed schedule for periods one through three following the rally.
On Friday, there will be an assembly at 9:20 for the Homecoming Court Assembly. Periods one through three will be shortened prior to the assembly.
The Powerpuff Game:
Junior and Senior teams take on each other on September 10th at 5:00 PM at Memorial Stadium. Junior Mattie Richtsmeier invites students to come watch, stating that students should “come support ‘Pink Demons’ at the Powerpuff game to kickoff Hoco week!” Senior Danica Wrage encourages students “pop out to the Powerpuff game to watch ’24 ‘Deep Threat’ win it all.” Come support these girls as they take on each other and show off their own football skills.
Themes for the Week:
Monday: Cowboy vs. Country Club
Tuesday: Disney Channel (Orginal Movie)
Wednesday: Iconic Duos or Groups
Thursday: Tourist (9th-11th) Toga (seniors only!)
Friday: Float Day
Homecoming Football game:
The Wahawks take on Davenport on Friday, September 9 at 7:00. Make sure you come support and wear a jersey for the “jersey out” student section theme.
Float Themes:
During 8th hour on Friday, September 9, the parade for all grades will take place. Certain themes have been chosen for each grade as those including:
- Freshmen: Albuquerque
- Sophomores: St. Louis
- Juniors: Chicago
- Seniors: L.A
Homecoming Dance:
Homecoming Tickets are being sold online this year through Bound. Tickets will be available for purchase and sent to your email on Thursday, September 7.
