On Saturday, October 28, West High Student Senate hosted a Trunk or Treat event which consisted of collecting donated canned foods and money for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank’s Student Food Drive. Even though it wasn’t the warmest, everyone still had a warm welcome for all the trick or treaters.
Lucy Prescott, Student Senate Vice President, explained that Trunk or Treat “is a fundraiser senate started three years ago to raise money for the food bank. It is a way to get the community involved as well as other students from West.” Prescott shared that the event went well, despite the weather. “I think it was good for the conditions we had a lot of clubs participate but as the evening went on it slowly got worse. We ended one hour early, due to cold temperatures and many trunk/ student participants left. However, it was still fun and I enjoyed seeing all the smiles and costumes,” Prescott shared.
