Feb. 15, 2024, will be the most memorable night in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Caitlin Clark was eight points away from breaking the Women’s NCAA all-time scoring record. Clark’s pursuit of the NCAA women’s basketball all-time scoring record climaxed Thursday night as the Iowa superstar broke Kelsey Plum’s record of 3,527 points with 7:44 left in the first quarter. Clark hit the record in what is said to be the most “Caitlin way possible” with a dribble-up deep three-pointer. Clark went on to score 23 points in the first quarter. She continued to score easily through the rest of the game, ending the game with a career-high of 49 points. A week before, Clark’s teammate Hannah Stuelke scored 47 points, setting the record for the most points in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Clark will be remembered as one of the greatest in the nation.
